From the Venues & Promoters

Don't take our word on how good the Dirty/DC experience is. Have a look at some quotes from Venues & Promoters that we deal with and some local press reviews and get their view on the Dirty/DC show....
“They’re the best tribute Band in Britain”

Kerrang Magazine
“A great show. They look and sound Just like the real thing”

Classic Rock Magazine
“It’s like sitting side of stage at Wembley Stadium. This isn’t a tribute. It’s a religious f*cking experience.”

Metal Hammer Magazine
“Lord of all tribute bands. Over the years Dirty/DC have visited dozens of times and not once have they failed to deliver the goods, not once have they let their foot off the gas and given any less than 100% with their maximum energy show. We’ve received more reviews for this band than any other band at all. It was suggested recently that we put them on every Saturday night! Always a sell out”

Kyp, Mr Kyps, Poole
"I was running around organising the front of house most of the evening and looking after sponsors, but the tracks I was lucky enough to see, had my foot stomping in seconds and my hands straight in the air. After seeing you at a small venue last year I didn’t think you could better that performance but having seen you play both an intimate and 2,000+ capacity venue, you rock any space in your play with all your might and I would happily book you again and again and again. Bizarre Magazine loves you guys!"

Jemma Ryan, Project manager - The Bizarre Ball/Dennis Publishing
"From the moment Dirty DC took the Stage in Redhill the audience knew what they were going to get - not many bands can pull off an authentic Tribute act in such detail but DIRTY DC do exactly what is says on the tin and left the crowd begging for more even after two and a half hours - we cannot wait to have them back in 2011 !!"

Marc Watkins - The Harlequin Theatre, Redhill
MY GOD , you guys get better and better everytime you play @ Rushden. From the very first note to the last the packed crowd was up for a good time. The sound was crystal clear which i must thank Ian Harris for . Some great classics came out starting with Riff Raff,it doesn't get better than that!! A fanstastic nite was had by all and cant wait to get you boys back in 2010. The ROCK N ROLL TRAIN KEEPS STEAMING AHEAD and long may it last . as long as there's ROCK AC/DC will always be THE BEST . Thanks again to Paul and the guys

Melv Baxter - Rushden Athletic Club - December '09
"Having used other AC/DC Tributes for 7 years we felt it was time for a change but didn't really know what we were going to get. We then came across Dirty/DC who said they could fill the slot.
I needn't have worried! These guys put on a superb show and took The Diamond by storm! Not one of the capacity audience went away disappointed and we have had some rave reviews of the band Looking forward to their next performance in November - If you have not seen Dirty/DC then do so, you won't regret it!!!"

Gary - The Diamond, Sutton In Ashfield
What can ya say? Great Band, Great Blokes and no beer left backstage! Anyone wanting a top notch tribute band should think about these fellas they'll fill the place and send everyone home smilin!

Trev - Heachem Hall, Heachem
Dirty/DC are not only the best tribute band, but the best band we have here.

Noel - The Cartoon, Croydon
Everything was right.

So often when you go and see a tribute band you end up disappointed. It seems there's always something missing, whether its the soundalike or lookalike that's not quite right. But there they were - for all the world as if AC/DC were on stage at 'the tack'. And thats how it felt at 'the tack' - like standing in a local pub watching a mega band. At times it was easy to forget you weren't watching the real thing.

Right from the start , with the instantly recognisable beginning of 'Thunder' , it was clear that this was going to be a good night, And the hits then just kept coming. And 'Angus' (who eventually peeled off trademark school blazer and tie), just kept prancing. Front man Chris Hill , wearing a cap of course , had just the right banter: not so much that it got on your nerves, but enough to have a crowd rapport. The voice was gratingly great. The audience , young and not-so-young , all appeared to be having a good time and the comments i heard were positive. My partner, usually most reticent when it comes to giving praise, came out with 'very good' and 'excellent' without even being asked . Praise indeed. This column is rightly named after an AC/DC song. Dirty DC - I salute you.

It doesn't take long to get bored with eating endless turkey dinners, puds, and oceans of chocolates from those great big tins we binge from; and watching re-runs and films we've seen a dozen times before. So what do we do then? Well, the packed house at Mr. Kyps will tell you where they had the savvy to go and jump around, pogo and sweat those resultings calories off: the Sunday evening Dirty DC gig. Of course, we don't get fed up or bored drinking Ringwood or Guinness, do we, so that's not counted amongst the Xmas sins, and Kyps' bar was doing a brisk business. The keen to get their ear-holes bored out with AC/DC's incredible music were down there at the front before the band had changed out of their civvies; so there was no need for 'Brian' to ask everyone to 'move forward' as happens at some gigs where the fans are a bit shy.

Right from the first note we were fired off into a 23 song orbit visiting the majority of AC/DC albums, so no one needed convincing they were going to have a fantastic time. Riff-Raff, Shoot To Thrill and Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be were the opening salvo, bringing smiles to the majority of faces and the lyrics to the lips of the many; singing along, beer in hand; where else was there any better to be? If You Want Blood was a huge favourite, of course, as is the whole album, one of the top 5 live albums of all time. Back In Black and Sin City crunched their gritty chords from the PA system and spat 'Angus' fiery solos over our heads, and introduced by those mournful tolling Hells Bells; it was another classic riff and another classic song.

But AC/DC have so many classic songs it must be diffcult choosing which ones to play for a top class band like Dirty DC. Dirty Deeds, Thunderstruck, and Stiff Upper Lip were but another three from the rosta, and during Money Talks a balloon hanging from the lighting rig exploded, showering the crowd with fake bank notes; a great effect or what. There has to be Whole Lotta Rosie and Let There Be Rock in the set, of course; and the lights dimmed and the band walked off but they were not going to get away without an encore; no way. So Rock 'n' Roll Train brought us up to date, and Highway To Hell and For Those About To Rock, complete with the cannons, of course, left everyone satiated, wrecked, or just a puddle of goo on the dance floor.

"You have it spot on, excellent, I really enjoyed the gig."

Chris Slade - AC/DC Drummer (1989-1994)
From the Fans

We know how into AC/DC our fans are, and the high standards that they expect from a tribute to the best band in the world....
Hi, Just wanted to drop you a line about saturday nights gig. It was the first time that I had ever been to a Dirty DC gig and after seeing the real AC/DC last year at Punchestown, I have to say you guys are incredible. You are identical to the real thing, from start to finish it was a blistering gig, the attention to every little detail, mannerisms, equipment and sound was spot on. I'm a drummer in a band myself and often play AC/DC covers, but you guys are the best I have ever seen or heard, not only did you play the songs note for note, you totally nailed AC/DC's "feel". Please please please come back to Belfast soon, its gonna be a long time before I enjoy myself the way I did last saturday night...my neck is still sore from the headbanging...LOL. Dirty DC I salute you, you are brilliant and I'll be telling everyone I know as much. I will be at the next one for sure!!!

Saw you last night at the scream lounge, you guys completely blew me away!!!
I've been an ac/dc fan practically all my life, and play myself but you guys are on a different level! Note for note, inch for inch perfect!
Absolutely amazing keep up the great work!

Adam - The Scream Lounge, Croydon - March '10
Absolutely outstanding show last night guys, The Horn was well and truly rocked to its core! Great to hear If You Want Blood, Whole Lotta Rosie thumped out at a terrific pace, the (I’m guessing?) Dollar bill-filled balloon in Moneytalks was a nice touch (shame I didn’t get a bill!) and the bar walkaround was superbly entertaining! The highlight of the evening for me was You Shook Me All Night Long and with a great crowd chanting along fists in the air! DirtyDC, once again, I salute you!

Chris Hawkins - The Horn, St Albans - February '10
"Opening with rock n roll train just like the real thing this effectively was the real deal. The opening few bars blew me away. From start to finish these guys threw themselves into the 2.5 hr gig with a great set list that fired up the audience to levels not normally associated with a cover band.

Having recently seen the real thing at the O2 ...........dare I say it.......these guys are better!! Plus you are feet from the stage with a bar just behind you! Great to see dirty dc back. See you guys in September!"
